Ghanaians boo President Akufo Addo at Global Citizen Festival
Ghana’s President, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was booed by some Ghanaian who attended Global Citizen festival event held at the Black Star Square in Accra on Saturday, September 24, 2022.
There was a massive crowd at the venue as thousands showed up to witness the Global festival which had both local and international artistes performing.
As Ghana hosted the event, The president was called upon to give his remarks and immediately he mounted the stage, he was greeted with boos fro a section of the crowd, a clear indication that people are not happy about the economic situation in the country.
The crowd showed their disapproval of his presence on the stage and then continued by clapping and chanting of the words: “away, away…” the president, however, stayed grounded and delivered his full speech.
As if that was not enough, netizens on social media also took their turn to mock the President for the booing incident that happened at the event.
They booed at him while others shouted ‘away!’ as he finished his speech.
Some of the attendees also took to social media to clarify that their heckling was a show of disapproval for the economic hardship suffered in the country under his leadership.
Visuals have since surfaced on social media showing the incident.
