Donald Trump is poised to make a historic political comeback after declaring victory over Kamala Harris in the US presidential election.

In Florida, the Republican declared that they will bring forth “a new golden age for America” to their jubilant followers.

The BBC’s US partner, CBS, has projected that he only needs one more state to formally surpass the victory threshold of 270 electoral college votes. In almost 130 years, he would be the first former president to retake the White House.

Trump’s party is predicted to gain majority control of the Senate, which is additional good news.

Trump told fans in West Palm Beach on Wednesday morning, accompanied by his family and his choice for vice president, JD Vance: “We must have this golden age of America.

“This is a magnificent victory for the American people that will allow us to make America great again.”

As the results came in, the Republican nominee was accompanied by Elon Musk, the richest man in the world and a major donor to Trump. Throughout the night, the billionaire shared more and more encouraging posts on X, which he controls.

Trump may win the national popular vote, something he failed to do when he was first elected in 2016, and he may be headed for a clean sweep of the seven swing states required to win the White House.

Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania are predicted to go to him. According to CBS, he is leading in Michigan, another state in the so-called Rust Belt, and Wisconsin is leaning Republican. It takes days to receive certified final results.

While the race is still close in Arizona, another Sun Belt battleground, Trump also has a sizable edge in Nevada.

According to CBS, Harris won liberal states from New York to California, while Trump, as predicted, swept conservative strongholds from Florida to Idaho.

After midnight, it became clear that the Democrat would not be speaking to the electorate on election night at Howard University in Washington, DC, where she was an undergraduate. Harris has not yet commented.
After Democratic campaign co-chairman Cedric Richmond made the news, the audience at Harris HQ at the historically black college virtually vanished.

Vice President Harris, who ran a strong campaign for abortion rights and hoped to become America’s first female president, may have scored poorly with women, according to CBS exit poll statistics.

The figures show that about 54% of female voters voted for her. However, 57% of women supported Joe Biden in 2020.

According to Associated Press exit poll statistics, Black and Latino voters also seemed to be slightly less inclined to support Harris than they were to support Biden four years prior.

Rather, Trump became America’s oldest president after winning a landslide in the crucial battleground states. Despite focussing a large portion of his early campaign on criticising President Joe Biden’s advanced age, the Republican has refused to make his medical records public.

In addition, Congress is up for election.

After capturing two Senate seats from the Democrats in West Virginia and Ohio and defeating a formidable opponent in Texas, CBS predicts Republicans will take control of the Senate, which would be a significant boost for a Trump administration.

In the House, which Republicans control by a slim margin, neither party appeared to have a general advantage.

Control of Congress, however, would give Trump a comparatively easy way to get his main agenda items approved by the legislature, such as his promises to implement broad tax cuts and conduct huge deportations of illegal immigrants.

In the midst of one of the most contentious campaigns in recent American history, some 86 million voters cast their ballots early.

Only in July, when pressure from within the Democratic Party caused President Joe Biden to withdraw from the race, did Harris, 60, officially enter the contest as the party’s nominee.

Trump, 78, narrowly avoided being shot by a sniper in Pennsylvania in July and was the focus of two assassination attempts.

The billionaire’s fortunes drastically changed after his victory. After the Capitol riot, in which his supporters tried to prevent his loss to Joe Biden from being certified, he departed office in 2021 with poor approval ratings and the nation in shock.
