Asante Kotoko were lucky – WAFA coach Prosper Narteh Ogum
West Africa Football Academy [WAFA] coach, Dr Prosper Ogum Narteh beleives Asante Kotoko were lucky to have escaped with a drawn game.
The Porcupine Warriors were held to a 1-1 drawn game in the matchday 26 games at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium.
Defender Abdul Ganiu broke the deadlock in the 3rd minutes of the game through a penalty.
However, Justus Torsutse’s late header pegged the game at 1-1 after full time.
Speaking after the game, the young gaffer said per match analysis and strategies he was certain of victory against the Porcupines Warriors.
He stressed that the Reds were lucky to have escaped with a point.
“In fact we came here to beat them, the plan was not to draw or to lose. We knew will beat Kotoko because we had watched them against Dwarfs and Liberty on TV,” he said.
”So we knew how we were going to play and therefore gave our players positional information about each Kotoko players, how they play with the ball and how they play without the ball.
“So when we were coming here we were very confident that we were going to beat Kotoko but that is the nature of the game,” he added.
WAFA per the result lie 7th on the log with 39 points from 26 games.
Asante Kotoko are tied on 46 points as Hearts of Oak but have less goals than the 2000 CAF Champions League winners.
