Partey heading back to Atletico?
Ghana midfielder, Thomas Partey could be heading back to the Wanda Metropolitano just a season into his contract with Arsenal.
The Gunners triggered his €50m release clause on transfer deadline date for him to join Arsenal, but it is reported that the club is getting worried by his persistent injuries since switching to the Emirates.
However, is it reported that Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone is planning to launch a two-prong attack on Arsenal with Real Madrid loanee, Dani Caballos, the other player on his radar.
The 27-year-old Partey has managed just 20 league appearances, starting 15 of them this season but without a goal, and sources have also claimed that the midfielder could be making a return to his former club, Atletico.
Partey joined Arsenal on deadline day in October after they triggered his €50m release clause. But the Ghana international has had various injury problems and was criticised by Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta earlier in the season for his role in a goal Arsenal conceded.
According to Todofichajes, the Gunners are now thinking about selling Partey just one year into his contract, which still runs until 2025.
