Under the pretence of being national security agents, unidentified individuals chained and padlocked the Human Resources Manager’s office at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

On Tuesday, Anthony Kofi Oduro, the HR Manager, came back from a meeting to discover his office locked and marked with warning signs.

The text read: “Workers are working under a toxic environment, withdraw your service now or face our wrath” , “Tony must go,” along with “KATH workers deserve better.”

The HR official gained access after the locks were removed under the supervision of the police, the facility’s security, and the regional security liaison.

Alhaji Nje Abdullah Omar, the deputy regional security coordinator, denied authorising the action and pledged to work with the police to locate the culprits through a joint inquiry.
“We have no knowledge of it. He explained, “According to Captain Jabari [Regional Security Coordinator], we have not authorised anyone to come and carry out what just occurred.”

“The investigation will determine whether this is an internal matter, but we cannot justify it,” he said. He was shocked when they arrived to close up the office because HR wasn’t there, but I was able to reassure him.”

Workers were horrified and left stranded by the tragedy.
