The head of the Institute for Education Studies says we must increase the amount of money available to support education.

Dr. Peter Partey Anti, the Executive Director of the Institute for Education Studies, has underlined how vital it is to increase Ghana’s educational funding sources.
Expanding the financial scope, in his opinion, will aid in resolving ongoing issues in the industry, especially those pertaining to fundamental curriculum revisions and the Free Senior High School (SHS) policy.

“We need to expand the scope of funds that we use to fund education and in doing that, we need to pursue efficiency measures and ensuring that what is meant for education, is used for education,” he stated.

He emphasised the importance of education in the lives of all citizens and the need for more inclusive decision-making in this area.
this nation. Each person is a stakeholder. He pointed out that choices cannot be made with only the President or the Minister or with three or four persons in a room without extensive consultation.

Dr. Anti cautioned that ineffective educational systems could have disastrous effects and could instantly endanger a whole generation.

He praised the National Education Forum’s strategy and expressed optimism that the meetings’ conclusions would result in significant changes to the industry.

Dr. Anti went on to say that increasing funding sources and putting efficiency measures in place to stop resource waste are both necessary to guarantee the sustainability and efficacy of education financing.

He emphasised that money given for education must be spent as intended and that the sector’s financial management should concentrate on reducing inequality rather than widening already-existing gaps.

To guarantee long-term investment in education, Dr. Anti also urged the use of creative finance mechanisms.

He said that in order to improve the standard and accessibility of education in the nation, a number of these models should be investigated.
