Michelle Obama denies reports of a divorce.

Michelle Obama has defended her marriage to Barack Obama from speculations that it may be in jeopardy.
The former first lady has not gone with her husband to a number of high-profile occasions, such as the inauguration of Donald Trump or the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter, which has fuelled rumours that they are divorcing.
Mrs. Obama stated that she was now able to manage her own schedule as a “grown woman” on the Work in Progress podcast, which was hosted by actress Sophia Bush, without specifically referencing these events.
She claimed that others “had to assume that my husband and I are divorcing” because they could not believe she was “making a decision” for herself.
Mrs. Obama admitted that she felt guilty about renouncing some of her responsibilities.
“That’s the thing that we as women, I think we struggle with like disappointing people,” she stated.
“I mean, so much so that folks this year assumed my husband and I were divorcing because they couldn’t even comprehend that I was making a decision for myself.
“A mature woman couldn’t be making these choices for herself, could she? However, society treats us that way.
In the podcast, Mrs. Obama also stated: “I decided to act in my own best interests. I didn’t have to. The opposite of what I believed other people wanted me to do.
It was considered unusual for her to miss President Trump’s inauguration.
The former first lady claimed that even though she has made more time for herself, she still finds time to “give speeches, to be out there in the world, to work on projects.” I still care about the education of girls.
In October of last year, the Obamas commemorated their 32nd anniversary.
In her best-selling memoir, Becoming, Mrs. Obama previously discussed the difficulties she had in her marriage as a result of Mr. Obama’s political aspirations and tenure in the White House.
