Mahama directs an inquiry into potential illegal activity connected to suspicious planes.

The National Security and pertinent agencies have been instructed by President John Mahama to carry out a thorough inquiry into two planes that touched down in Ghana earlier in March and left for Gran Canaria, Spain, on March 25.
The Minority in Parliament expressed suspicions that the flights—a private jet and an air ambulance—might have been connected to money laundering or drug trafficking, and the President issued his order in response.
Suspicions were heightened when a private jet, Antonov 12B, also arrived on March 12 and departed the same day as the air ambulance.
In order for the honourable member of parliament to offer all the information required to look into the claims and take all the necessary steps to expose any drug, the president asked the security authorities to work with him swiftly and completely.
President Mahama emphasised the importance of accountability and transparency in preserving national security.
“We cannot permit the exploitation of Ghana’s airspace for illegal purposes. We will maintain the integrity of our aviation industry thanks to this probe,” he continued.
