GPL 2024–25: Asante Kotoko goes top thanks to a penalty from Justice Blay

Asante Kotoko defeated Karela United and took the lead in the Ghana Premier League standings thanks to a penalty kick from Justice Blay.
Following a lacklustre first half, Kotoko put forth more effort in the second half and were awarded a penalty at the hour.

After Baba Yaya was knocked down in the 18-yard box, Blay took over and delivered a professional finish.

Kotoko persevered to win all three points, accomplishing the double over Karela and extending their winning streak to six games with five wins.

After Gold Stars’ unexpected loss to relegation-threatened Legon Cities, they are leading the pack with 34 points because to their excellent run of play.

Karela United is currently at the bottom of the table with 14 points after losing four straight games.

Karela will host Berekum Chelsea, while Kotoko will travel to play Nsoatreman
