Give African musicians free diplomatic passports — Sarkodie

Rapper Sarkodie wants musicians in Africa to be provided with diplomatic passports.

According to the ‘Sarkcess Music’ boss, musicians play pivotal roles in shining lights on their countries at the global level.

Addressing the issue to the media in Paris, the rapper expressed that passport and visa acquisition for African artists sometimes is a herculean task making it difficult for them to make appearances at international invitations.

“I don’t have to hustle trying to go spread the good news about my own country. As artists, we are also ambassadors who shine more light on our country and need to own diplomatic passports so it will be easier for artists when traveling,” he said.

The rapper was speaking ahead of the ‘Accra in Paris’ concert which is set to come off on Saturday, April 23, 2022.

Ghanaian acts, Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, and Kwabena Kwabena have been billed to perform at the event alongside French acts, Passi and Orti.

The event comes off at the Elysee Montmartre in Paris.
