
Eric Opoku, Kwame Governs Agbodza, and Haruna Iddrisu were accepted as ministers.

The second group of ministers nominated by President John Mahama has been accepted by Parliament after the Appointments Committee successfully vetted them.
The confirmation of Eric Opoku, MP for Asunafo South; Kwame Governs Agbodza, MP for Adaklu; and Haruna Iddrisu, MP for Tamale South, for cabinet positions was unanimously recommended by the Appointments Committee.
In Parliament, the nominations were discussed on Tuesday, January 21. Andrew Asiamah Amoako, the Second Deputy Speaker, led the discussion.
Following lengthy discussions, the majority and minority caucuses confirmed the three contenders’ capacity to successfully manage their respective ministries by recognizing their qualifications and track records.
This second batch of ministerial approvals complements the first group of ministers previously approved by Parliament.
The approval marks another significant milestone in President Mahama’s efforts to build a capable and effective government team to address pressing national challenges.
The Second Deputy Speaker later ratified the selections.
Eric Opoku was accepted as the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Kwame Governs Agbodza as the Minister of Roads and Highways, and Haruna Iddrisu as the Minister of Education.
