LIVE: Oheneba Nana Asiedu Presents The Wontumi Morning Show | 5/09/24 - YouTube

Regarding the dissemination of misleading information, Oheneba Nana Asiedu, a radio and television host of Kumasi-based Wontumi TV/FM, has been invited by the Ghana Police Service.

Following a viral video, Nana Asiedu will help with investigations into the spread of misleading information on the election scheduled for December 7.

Voters will cast their ballots for presidential candidates on different days, according to Oheneba, who was shown in the video in the Wontumi FM studios.

The Police emphasised in a statement that this information is false and does not accurately represent the election process.

The statement in the video was deemed “false and likely to disturb the public peace” by the police.

The Service voiced alarm about the possible repercussions of this kind of disinformation, emphasising that it can interfere with the election process and cause needless confusion among voters.
When sharing information, the public—and media professionals in particular—have been asked to exercise caution and responsibility.

Reminding media professionals of their responsibility to ensure truthful and responsible reporting, the Service also urged caution in publishing any news that might be untrue or cause a disturbance of the public peace.
