Bawumia casts a ballot in Walewale
Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the vice president and the presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2024 elections, has voted in the North East Region’s Walewale constituency.
At the polling place in his hometown, Dr. Bawumia, who is running for president of Ghana, exercised his right to vote.
As the vice president’s hometown and a major political bastion for his party, the Walewale district has great sentimental significance for him.
Both his presidential campaign and the NPP’s parliamentary candidate in the constituency stand to gain from his presence, which is thought to increase voting turnout.
Dr. Bawumia, the NPP’s candidate, has positioned himself as the man who can guide Ghana through its present difficulties by running on a platform of job creation, digital transformation, and economic recovery.
In the event that he is elected at the conclusion of the 2024 election cycle, his vote today represents a significant turning point in his quest to become Ghana’s first Muslim president.
