As irate NDC supporters destroy property and burn objects, chaos breaks out in Asante Mampong.

For the past two days, some disgruntled National Democratic Congress (NDC) youth in the Ashanti region’s Asante Mampong municipality have protested the appointment of a Municipal Chief Executive (MCE).
They broke into the party office on Wednesday and Thursday, causing damage and brazenly burning office furniture and other goods.
Although no arrests were made, law enforcement and firefighters had to step in to restore order.
Supporters insist that one of the three people who made the shortlist for the MCE position be nominated. Among them are Imoro Iddrisu, a prominent party member; Mohammed Kamil, the Constituency Chairman; and Yakubu Yakubu, the 2024 Parliamentary Candidate for Mampong.
However, the disgruntled supporters assert that a fourth candidate, Esther Dwomoh, has been selected for the role, a decision they intend to oppose.
The irate youngsters rushed the party office to voice their disapproval to the national party executives, according to Kwaku Bernasko, Mampong NDC Communications Officer.
“Any one of the three individuals who have been interviewed and selected for the MCE position has our full support.” We will oppose the nomination of any other person while we wait for the President to pick one of them. If our leaders force us to accept any MCE, the NDC party will be in ruins.
