Akufo-Addo taking cash in public: Whoever is in charge of State protocol should be fired by now – Bonaa
Dr. Adam Bonaa, a security and safety analyst, revealed that the State Protocol head shouldn’t be in office at this point.
His request follows a widely shared video in which President Akufo-Addo is seen stealing money from a person in public and pocketing it.
Many people have critiqued the film, which has since caused controversy among some members of the public, and have given it various interpretations.
Since the behaviour is unpresidential, Dr. Bonaa claims it is a disgrace to the State.
“At every giving point, the President is seen in the eye of the public to be truly presidential,” he argues, adding that those close to the president should have prevented the individual from approaching Akufo-Addo to give him the money.
Speaking on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, on Onua FM’s Asem Ben Ni? with Captain Smart, he stated that the footage was not at all presidential and that the people in charge of protocol ought to have been held accountable for their actions.
According to him, this is because a large number of those surrounding the president are not security professionals with formal training, but rather party members who were promoted to such roles following the party attained power.
“Everything surrounding the President, including the water he will consume in public, needs to be prepared and practiced. However, it appears that the majority of his close protection team is made up of “boys who were around” who were brought in without any official training. The state will be embarrassed in such a circumstance, but we will accept it as such. “The person in charge of state protocol ought to have been fired by now.” You don’t do that,” he said, adding that his countrymen ought to have suffered.
