A jury finds “Sexy Don Don” not guilty of JB Danquah’s murder, and the judge orders a new trial.
Joseph Boakye Danquah Adu, the main suspect in the murder of the late Abuakwa North MP, was acquitted.
On Wednesday, December 4, a seven-member jury returned this 4-3 verdict.
According to Section 285(4) of the Criminal and Other Offences (Procedure) Act, 1960 (Act 30), the presiding judge was compelled by the split decision to dismiss the jury.
Based on this, the court determined that the verdict was not enough to proceed.
Daniel Asiedu, also referred to as Sexy Don Don, was charged with the late MP’s murder and robbery.
The suspect is still being held in custody in spite of the jury’s verdict.
