Elrad Salifu Amoako, the 16-year-old driver under suspicion, is being held in detention while his parents support the inquiry.

According to a statement released by the service today, investigations have so far shown that on October 12, 2024, at Mensah Wood Street in East Legon, a 4×4 Acura driven by Joseph Ackah and carrying four other occupants collided with a suspected driver, Elrad, who was operating a Jaguar SUV with one other passenger.

Both cars caught fire and were severely burned.

Furthermore, the inquiry shows that two of the five victims in the Acura car during the collision—Julie Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh, both 12 years old—died while the other three were saved.

In order to provide comfort to the impacted family, the Police also promised the public that the accident would be thoroughly investigated.
