Six people are being held in relation to the lynching of a prison guard in Kasoa.

In relation to the vicious lynching of Lance Corporal Gideon Adu Boakye, a prison guard assigned to the Nsawam Medium Security Prison, six individuals have been taken into custody.
The terrible event happened at Kasoa Iron City on September 29, 2024.

It was confirmed by the Ghana Prisons Service that two men and four women had been placed under arrest.

The killing is still being investigated, thus the suspects have been placed under arrest. Lance Corporal Adu Boakye died after what is believed to have been an attack by an unidentified group of attackers while he was visiting his relatives in Kasoa.

The administration of the prisons has promised to see that justice is done and is collaborating closely with law enforcement to ascertain the complete circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Prisons Service denounced the practice of “instant justice” in a statement and advised the public to report any suspicious activity to the police rather than handling it themselves.

They issued a warning, saying that these acts frequently result in harm to innocent individuals.

The Service has offered its sympathies to the deceased officer’s family and friends and asked all prison guards to maintain composure while actions are being taken to apprehend those responsible.
