Maradona Adjei Yeboah, popularly known as Guru, is a Ghanaian singer and the presidential candidate for the University of Ghana SRC. He has declared his membership in the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He remarked that although he agreed with Dr. Bawumia’s objectives, the ruling party was not interested in his quest for the SRC.

“Although I am an NPP member and I agree with Bawumia’s policies, they are unrelated to my desire to run for SRC. Students dislike when school politics are combined with national politics. My campaign is entirely sponsored by myself.

Guru also listed the main concerns he wants to solve if elected SRC President, including lodging, transportation, and the requirement for free data for online lectures, in an interview with Dwaso Nsem on Adom FM’s morning broadcast on Monday.

“Accommodation is a problem, 60 percent of the students come from home, and transportation is difficult because the country is already hard,” he stated.

In keeping with his emphasis on the wellbeing of his students, Guru also intends to enact a policy requiring every hall to have at least one sick bay.

“When I become the UG SRC President, I’ll address issues with sick bay, lodging, transportation, and data,” he declared.
