Due to a variety of misdeeds, 23 Upper East Region New Patriotic Party (NPP) members and constituency executives have been placed on indefinite leave from the party.
Six constituency executives from Pusiga, sixteen current and former Tempane constituency officials, and one member from the Builsa South Constituency are among the suspended persons.

The impacted individuals have each received a letter advising them of their suspension.

Until the regional disciplinary committee has finished conducting thorough investigations into their violations, those who held executive positions prior to the suspension are instructed to cease representing themselves as executives.

Peter Ayinbisa, the NPP’s Upper East Regional Communications Director, confirmed the incident to the media. He said the suspended executives’ offences included misappropriating campaign funds and campaigning against the parliamentary candidates in their constituency, which led to multiple complaints from party members.

According to him, one of them has also been charged with extorting money from those who came to him for help finding employment.

According to Ayinbisa, a “Expanded Meeting of the Regional Executive Committee” led to the decision to postpone the 23.

“They will be given a hearing by the disciplinary committee shortly before the final decision is made,” he stated.
